Discouraged, Disappointed........but also

DETERMINED!

Last night was the semi-final swim meet for both Joshua and Logan. They can pick their 3 favorite strokes to swim. Eight schools compete for the top 16 spots for each age group, each stroke. Logan and Joshua both made it in the top 16 for all three strokes. Last night Logan made the top 8 boys in all three of his strokes - freestyle, butterfly and the IM. He is little, but strong and fast.

Joshua made the top 8 boys in all three of his events - freestyle, butterfly and the IM. HOWEVER, he was Disqualified in the IM for not touching with two hands on his breaststroke. He did so good - 1.38 in the IM - #3 overall 9-10 age boys in the City of Mesa. But, the look on his face was a big "D". He was SO disappointed to see a D by his lane number. After he figured out what he was disqualified for - he came and told me "I am so sad I didn't touch with two hands. I don't even remember only touching with one hand. I will NOT ever make that mistake again."

So, yes, we are now DETERMINED to always touch with two hands! He already is geared up for the IM for next summer. Thursday is the FINALS - top 8 boys in everything - and then it is all over! (Boys are sad - Mom, Emma, and Beau are quite happy.)
