Swimming, Swimming and More Swimming!
July 2009
Is there anything else to do to keep cool in July but to swim???
Needless to say we have been swimming everyday, several times a day, at our home, at our swim classes, at the public pools (they have high diving boards and slides!) and then back at our home again.
Beau survived Survival Swim Lessons! And he actually can do it!
Emily, his teacher giving him instructions, "fall in, turn around, kick to the side and reach.
Beau saves Beau."
Beau reaching so big.....
Beau making it! Monkey Walking to the steps... The Divisional Swim Meet was on Wednesday, July 15th - both Joshua & Logan did great. Joshua made it to the semi-finals in Freestyle, the Individual Medley and he is the 1st alternate for the butterfly. (He is quick to tell everyone that the #8 spot was 18.43 and his was 18.45!)
Logan did great too - he is going on to compete in all three of his strokes, Freestyle, IM and Butterfly. Logan got up on the blocks for the butterfly and was a good 2 heads shorter than all the other boys. I thought to myself, "This isn't going to be pretty." But, surprise, surprise, Logan took 1st in Butterfly out of ALL the 8 and under boys! Next Tuesday is the semi-finals (where they take the top 8 boys in every stroke to compete in the FINALS on Thursday!)
The fan club is VERY excited that the swim season is coming to an end in one week!!!! Emma & Beau great troopers for 3 1/2 hours in the heat! The cooler - a MUST at the swim meets, and Mom writing down the times as fast as she can - so Joshua can analyize them later.... More hanging out together at the pool (can you tell Emma was taking many many pictures)
